Spanish Speaking Country Photo Story

Step 1: Research

  1. Decide on what aspect of your country you wish to focus. Some ideas are art, music, food, recreation, holidays, traditions, contemporary issues, etc.
  2. Create a new folder on the Desktop entitled Clare Photo Story.
  3. Open a new Word document, and title it Clare Photo Story Notes. Save this Word document into your new folder on the Desktop.
  4. Locate at least two sources of information on your topic. Use Culturegrams and ABC-Clio's World Geography.
  5. For each source, copy and paste the citation onto your Clare Photo Story Notes page. You will place these citations on the last slide of your Photo Story.
  6. Take notes from the sources onto your Clare Photo Story Notes page.
  7. Save the Word document when you are done.

      • We have lots of country books, too! Use Destiny (click on the Catalog tab at the top) to search by subject for these books. Ask for help if you can't find the books on the shelves. Use Bib Me for help in citing books.

  2. When you locate a relevant picture, right-click on it, and click on "Save Picture As...". You may need to rename the picture so that its name is unique. Save each picture to your Clare Photo Story folder on the Desktop.
  3. On the final slide pf your Photo Story, along with your two information citations, you will need to add, "Images Courtesy of Culturegrams, ABC-Clio, and Creative Commons." (eliminate any picture source that you did not use)
  4. OPTIONAL: Find a music clip (in .wav or .mp3) format to use in your Photo Story. It could be the country's nationla anthem, a piece of music written by a musician from your country, or a popular song from your country. Save it to your Clare Photo Story folder. HINT: The national anthem for every country can be found on Culturegrams and downloaded (saved).

Step 4: Creating the Photo Story

  1. HINTS:
    1. Be sure to keep all picture and movie files saved together, and save your Photo Story working project to the same location. All image and music files need to be accessible to teh Photo Story program at all times.
    2. Save your Photo Story working project frequently.
    3. If you did not find and save a music clip, you will need to create music using the Photo Story program.
    4. When you are done, you will need to render (finalize) your project on the "Save Your Photo Story" phase. This action will make your project into a .wmv file that can be played on any computer. Save it to SharePoint.
